Should I include the Webdesign cost in my Business budget?
16.March, 2010
I am in the process of starting my own company (private limited by shares)and was wondering if it made any difference to pay for the website from my Business bank account, or from my personnal bank account ?
If you’re looking to get your own site started, I suggest starting out on your own to help save you expenses during this start-up time period. Office Live Small Business is extremely inexpensive, and it provides you with all sorts of tools to help a small business stay efficient and effective in the market. You get your own @yourname.com email address, along with multiple aliases if you like. And, it’s template-based, so you don’t need to know how to code to generate an impactful online presence. Learn more about it here: http://smallbusiness.officelive.com.
Hope this helps you trim down some of your start-up expenses. Good luck!

Well, if it’s for your business then the business really should be paying. However, it’s OK to pay it from your personal account and claim it back as an expense. However, I would advise against paying for it personally and not claiming it back as then you will "own" the website personally and any issues will come at you, probably, as a private individual rather than your company.
