I have a web page on one of web sites, and I need as many people to visit it as possible, so this web site’s rating for my page will go up. How could I do it for free?

I would post a link to your page anywhere you might find people interested in your cause. For instance, if it’s a page about your soccer team post it on a soccer or general sports chat or on a local community forum or board. You can also ask friends to visit the site. The more people click, the higher your rating and the more likely it will be that other people will find it when googling it.

It also helps if you use an unusual name for your heading. A search for "Soccer" would generate a million possibilities on Google, but it’s unlikely yours would be among the top 900 thousand. A search for "Rancho Pedro soccer club" would result in only a few possibilities so your page might be among them.

Another way to increase traffic is to use one or two tags people can use to find you. As with the headings, it helps if these are specific and/or unusual.

BTW, if you had included a link in your question I probably would have visited your site out of curiosity. Can you amend your question to include the link?

I am trying to figure out a way to make a web page that will allow me to take a easy inventory of a companies computers. I was wondering if there was a way to get the computers specifications and store them too a database without relying on the use to fill out a form.

It’s not possible for a website to get that information. There might be an Active X control or something but I’m not sure.

The best solution would be to have an application that is locally installed upload the information to a database. That way they will not have to worry about filling out any forms or logging into a website.

I’m using css to make text boxes on a web page, and I want to import content from another blog, preferably through an rss feed. Any ideas?

I want to take a snapshot of a web page that I want to keep in my computer!

If you have a mac press Command + Shift +3

When we bring the mouse close to the corner of web page it moves like real paper. It is available on MSN as well. Can any one guide me how can I make this on a web page and what is the name of this?

You can do it with a gif image, and using the hover effects in css. It would be far better then the way MSN is doing it.

When I scroll from the top of a web page to the bottom with the wheel on my mouse, there is a ton of lag. It skips around and is hard to get it where I want it.It also seems that the page loads from the bottom of the screen. Help?

Something is definately running in the background check wehich progrms you have recently installed or ran and make sure that they aren’t causing a problem. A reboot is definatelly a good thing to start with.

I use Windows Vista and the Google Chrome web browser. When I click an email link in a web page, it opens a new email in Outlook Express, which I don’t use. I want it to open a new email in the GMail account. Any ideas? Many thanks in advance!

For Chrome: http://a1979shakedown.wordpress.com/2009/04/14/set-mailto-to-use-gmail-in-chrome/

***NOTE*** this requires registry editing that may cause you more harm than just copying and pasting the mailto into Gmail. Rember to backup and save your registry BEFORE making changes to it.

The web page is twice te normal size it should be. I have to use the scroll bar up and down and sideways to see the whole page. Some f the web page doesnt even show its so big.

The Screen Size should not be a pixel value but instead be "100%".

SIZE = 100%

Today for some reason, the web page display size got larger than my monitor. I have to scrool to the right to view 1/3 of the homepage. It was not like this yesterday. I did’nt change anything.

Hello, I am Gaspar from Ask Dr.Tech support service.

Seems like you’ve changed Page Zoom Level.

Try to hold <CTRL> button and <SCROLL MOUSE> simultaneously. This will change the Page Zoom.

Change to the level when the page is totally visible on the screen.
This works for most browsers.

Hey everyone,
I was wondering how I can make a password-protected page with MVWD 2008 express edition (microsoft visual web developer 2008). What I wanted to do is have a more personal spot on my website that if someone other than friends/family got into they could track me and cause other security risks. SO if i password-protected it and gave the password to friends and family, then I could have that section on my site.

I have been using Visual Studio 2003 for a number of years but Visual Web Developer claims to have integrated the security through membership management. Try the link below (there are may others) that may help you through this feature.
