What ultimate indie folk bands should i know about?

i simply loveeeeeee indie folk however i’ve only been restraining myself on several bands such as bon iver, fleet foxes, band of horses and sufjan stevens… who else do i need to know about?

By the way, Bon Iver might be in Volcano Choir, but they”re definitly experimental, not folk.

    The Decemberists. Some of their stuff is more folk-y than others, but I love every single one of their songs. Make sure you listen to practically all of their songs, cause each song is really different and unique. The lyrics are really beautiful as well. It truly is poetry in music.

    I guess Belle and Sebastian, St Etienne and Beth Orton would be examples from the ’90s.

    Bright Eyes (the lead guy is in Monsters of Folk ^^, an indie folk super band)
