I am doing a school report and I need to compare the salaries from various professions in both New York City and Mexico City.

I’ve looked all over but I can’t find this information. Anyone know of a site?

I think Payscale.com offers salary ranges for different areas, you may want to give them a look.

Project:
Locate a Latino song by a famous artist.
Present the song in the form of a skit in spanish.

Please help.
We must be able to interpret the song (meaning that the song needs to have a purpose or meaning behind it.)

I’ve been looking into buying a camcorder to record my bands shows. I need something 125$ or less. I really want something that has good audio (obviously) and can capture a good picture in dark places. The venues I play in tend to be dark. I have been looking at Aiptek camcorders but I’m worried I’m going to buy something that isn’t worth the money. Does anyone have any suggestions on camcorders?

Toy cams, entry level consumer and mid-range consumer camcorders have small lenses and imaging chips so low-light behavior will be poor. They also do not have manual audio control so if your band is loud, the audio will be poor.

The least expensive cams - of which I am aware - that have manual audio control are the Canon HV230 and Sony HDR-HC9. Sorry. It is what it is.

You can get the cheap cam for the video - but when you edit, replace the audio with audio captured by a field recorder like those from Zoom or M-Audio or Edirol among others… The field recorders have manual audio control - the good ones can use external mics - the best ones connect external XLR mics.

I have always wanted to go into journalism. I am in the military and this is a goal that I will get more into in the future, but I want to start writting small articles and publishing them on the web so that I can start getting my name out there. Any creative ideas and info about starting a webpage would be awesome.

A blog is a good way to get started. You don’t have to learn any programming because it’s already done for you. Just start publishing!

All military bases (at least the ones I know of) have a weekly paper. Contact the publisher and see if they have a need or interest in a feature from you.

Do you have a degree? Journalism is a competitive field. If you don’t have a degree or journalistic training of some type, talk to your education officer to see what classes are available at your base, in the community, or online. Definitely take advantage of any education benefits you have available to help you achieve your goal.

I need a good site to get on myspace from my school server. The school blocks all proxy,social networking and gaming sites and the original proxy I was using is now deactivated.

I always get a good laugh at you kids coming here asking for ways to bypass school internet site filters. You never learn. you should be putting all those efforts into learning instead of trying to get ways pass school site filters.

I’ve been researching tattoos and am still in the process of selecting what I want for my first tattoo. Right now I am planning to take a trip to Hawaii which I have not been back to since the first year of my life, once there I would like to get my first tattoo but in the meantime I wanted to know if there was a way to find an artist there from my home in California.

Google it. Man you can find anything on google

Or even relatively unknown older Industrial bands.
I usually listen to NIN, Gravity Kills, and MM, but I am looking for other material. Thanks for the responses so far.

I’m a freelance web designer looking for some ways of advertising my services. I don’t have my own website, so usually I show people the projects I’ve done recently. And I’m looking something like craigslist’s free ads or any effective ways to attract people’s attention.

Could you give me a piece of advice or some links?

I own a graphic design firm, and regularly use freelance folks. I cannot imagine hiring a freelance web designer who did not have at least some sort of minimal web site.

I’ve also hired off Craig’s list. It’s a cheap place to advertise, but you get tons and tons of responses that you have to blast through at high speed just to get through them all. A web site (or at least a link to a portfolio oriented web service) is essential.

Sorry, but when you tell me you’re a web guy with no web site… that just sounds to me like you’re not yet serious about what you’re doing.

How do I adjust web page display size to fit my screen width- it’s often too wide so I can’t see the entire width

Change your screen resolution. Click on your RIGHT DESKTOP, Properties… SETTINGS. Slide the resolution slide to your right. It will made everything smaller and more fill on your monitor screen.

I want to know if someone has created a way to automate a screen capture of a webpage. I know I can use print screen but if the webpage is very long I would have to use print screen multiple times and then stitch those images together.

Use Screen Print Platinum. You simply run this program while looking at the webpage and press the print screen button on your browser. The program will automatically scroll down the entire page and even makes a nice camera snapshot sound when it is finished. You can then save the image in whatever format you want. It’s really easy.
